Water Damage Assessments

Some common sources of water damage in buildings include water pipe failure, sewer backups, roof leaks, and foundation seepage. Water damages can cause indoor mould growth, and building materials to lose their functional integrity.

Out staff utilizes training provided by the Centre of Disaster Recovery to interpret assessment findings and develop comprehensive protocol for drying and / or removal of affected building materials. We develop protocol for cleanup based on the source of the water loss and industry standards. Our staff are highly experienced in assessing the sources of water damages and providing recommendations for remedial action.

Our staff at Brickquill have developed successful scopes of work for water damage abatement at homes and commercial buildings across the GTA.

  What we do?

  • Use equipment to delineate and quantify water impacts after a loss.

  • Prepare reports with recommendations for abatement based on our knowledge of building science and the effects of water on building materials.

  • Evaluate the feasibility to restore affected building materials or contents.

  • Provide post-abatement evaluations to ensure affected surfaces are adequately dried and disinfected prior to re-occupancy.

When do you need a Water Damage Assessment?

  • To help identify salvageable building materials and contents, reducing the costs of reinstatement and replacement following a water loss.

  • To help identify the likely source/s of water damages.

  • To identify water damages hidden within wall or ceiling cavities, allowing for a comprehensive remediation strategy that reduces the likelihood of subsequent mould growth.
